OSPPARIS 30: The Avant-Garde in France through Literature, Art and Theater (Way: A-II)

Main content start

Instructor: Grégoire Quenault

Explores the artistic trends in France from the end of the 19th and throughout the 20th Century: from Baudelaire to the Nouveau Roman, from the theater of cruelty to the Theater of the Absurd, from the Impressionists to Yves Klein. Case studies may involve all arts forms. This interdisciplinary approach will allow students to truly reflect on the notion of avant- garde in France, as well as on the meaning of modernity in general.
