OSPPARIS 122X: Europe and its challenges today (Way: SI)

Main content start

Instructor: Louise Lartigot-Hervier

Rarely has Europe gone through such a close succession of challenges and crises. Yet in recent years Europe has taken essential steps in an integration process that began more than 60 years ago. This course aims to enable students to analyze this paradox by giving them the keys to understanding the system of the European Union, its institutions, its history, its functioning and its current affairs. Particular attention will be given to the comparison of the American and European political systems, as well as to media coverage of EU news in France and the United States, in particular the crucial issues of the moment: the aftermath of the pandemic of COVID and the Russian-Ukrainian war.
